The use of natural beauty products has been on the rise over the last few years. As opposed to the mass produced conventional makeup and skin care products.

The reason; well for one thing, people are giving more mindful attention to their long term appearance and health. You can still get done up right and looking great, without having to use beauty products enriched with chemicals in them. There’s every good reason to use natural beauty products.

Natural makeup, skin care, and fragrance products are gaining fast popularity. More and more people are becoming aware of them and grabbing them off the shelves. And with good reason; they are much safer to use, and much more kind and friendly to our skin.

Let’s take a look at some of the things women take into consideration, and why they are making the leap over to all natural beauty products. When it comes to our faces and our skin we want to take special care of them.

1. Filling our Pores

Our skin is actually a lot like a sponge, it’s very permeable and porous. The outer layer of our skin absorbs many microscopic entities every day. Much of the harmful toxins we are exposed to on a daily basis, enter our bodies through the pores of our skin. When we use traditional mainstream beauty products, we are also directly letting in all of the chemicals and fillers that they are made with.

These makeup companies are under little to no regulation as to the chemicals and the amounts used in their beauty products. Which means, they pretty much have free reign to put whatever they want in them more or less. The long term effects of applying these harsh chemicals on our skin can be very harmful to our appearance, and our bodies, and our overall health as well.

2. Skin Irritating

All of the miscellaneous “stuff” that is added to chemical-based beauty products don’t just do long term damage to the skin; they can also be very annoying as you apply them to your skin. It also makes it a “trial and error” process when experimenting with new products if you are prone to allergies. Some of these “mystery” additives can be very irritating to the skin. They tend to dry out the skin and cause irritation or dry flakiness to those that are highly sensitive.

Natural beauty products tend to not have such harsh effects of these chemical reactions. They are actually beneficial to use on our skin care. It is a much better way to go in taking good care of your skin, and still accentuating your natural beauty.

3. Environmentally Safe

The production of mainstream products can take its toll on our environment. Many harmful chemicals are released into the air when companies manufacture products that are riddled with chemicals and synthetic materials. The waste byproducts that get released into the air also get into our water.

Most organic and all natural beauty products are produced with this in mind. It kind of defeats the purpose of being all natural if it isn’t environmentally safe and friendly as well. Natural beauty and personal care products are no exception. Using much less abrasive and less harmful methods to produce them.

4. Mystery Ingredients

This was mentioned earlier, but it bears repeating. The chemicals and additives that go into traditional beauty products remain a mystery to their consumers. The way the regulations and guidelines are set up by the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) allow for the companies that manufacture these beauty products, and the fragrances in them, to put just about anything they want in them.

Who knows what they are really putting in there? The chemicals that go into the fragrances alone, contain a very high concentration of unknown chemicals to make the manufacturing process faster, easier, and more profitable for them. Who pays the price for it? The end consumer.

A good trusted line of beauty products contain all natural ingredients. Made in a way that is not harmful to the skin, and does not pollute the environment with chemicals being dispelled into the air and water.

5. Animal Free

It puts many women at ease, now that they are giving more thought to how their beauty products are made, that no animals were harmed when making them. It’s commonly said that the use of fat from animals (and possibly other parts) go’s into the making of cosmetics and perfume products. But did you know that many thousands of animals die every year from the testing of these cosmetics.

Just hear what the Humane Society had to say about it; hsi.org reports in their article about the harm being done on animals by testing beauty products:

We estimate that approximately 100,000-200,000 animals suffer and die just for cosmetics every year around the world. These are rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, rats and mice. While dogs and monkeys are never used to test cosmetics anywhere in the world, they are used to test other types of chemicals.

Conclusion:

In the long run, with all of the dangers involved in the making and personal use of conventional cosmetics; it isn’t any wonder why more and more women are making the switch to natural beauty products and personal care products.

They are a safer solution for the skin, the body, health, animals, and the environment. And still be able to look good.

As people become more conscious about these issues, more actions are taken to help prevent them, and maybe one day eliminate them. Both individually, and as a whole; and the world becomes that much of a better place.
